Our Story
Sunrise Paddle is a kayaking experience located in Ashe County, NC. We offer sunrise and sunset river trips lasting 2-3 hours on the New River. Sunrise Paddle aims to stand out by providing unique and memorable experiences for our customers. Under leadership of Terry & Tamrah, we provide small group (2-6 person) kayak trips on the New River. Our trips are scheduled to enjoy the river as it either awakens or quiets down for the evening. Terry has been paddling for many years and has thousands of miles on both rivers and lakes throughout the east, from Wisconsin to New York down south to Florida. Tamrah has paddled canoes in her past and is a recent convert to kayaking and enjoys the quiet times of day on the river. We both love sharing our love of the New with others.
What Sets Us Apart
Trips
All trips are customized for each group, sizes are limited to maximum of 6 guests. Start times are shortly after sunrise or 2 hours before sunset. River times will vary depending on river levels and enjoyment on the water. Nature lovers, bird watchers and those that follow a different path will enjoy our trips. We allow time to experience the river; with either, a short stop for coffee and muffins at sunrise or a charcuterie at sunset.
Scenic Routes
Our trips allow the opportunity to experience the "quiet" of the river, as well as, wildlife along or in the river.
Equipment
We offer 1 person cockpit kayaks from Current Design, either 12' Kestral or 12 ' Sciroco along with paddles and life jackets (PFD's) .
Scenic Views
Water sports can be exhilarating and fun, but it's important to keep in mind that they often involve getting wet! To ensure you stay comfortable, it's recommended to bring along dry clothes for after your activities. Enjoy your time on the water while staying prepared!
Water shoes are required for all paddlers!
Waiver & Release
All participants must sign our waiver & release. You may print this one or sign upon arrival.
